Forgetting is a natural brain mechanism — the mind deletes whatever it judges isn't useful. The real problem isn't a weak brain; it's that we're sending the brain the wrong signal. When we read slowly and scattered, the mind gets the message: "this information isn't worth keeping." Speed reading flips that signal: speed, excitement, and visualization tell the brain, "this matters — hold onto it."
For something to stick in memory, the brain needs three markers: excitement, connection, and smart repetition. Read something without excitement, and the mind logs it like a meaningless number and erases it fast; but raise the speed and visualize, and excitement and novelty enter the game. The next step is connection: link the material to what you already know, or attach it to a mental image, and it takes root. Finally, smart repetition — not exhausting drilling, but short, timed review — cements the neural pathway.
Our brain is inherently visual, not verbal. Read the word "tree" and the mind instantly builds a shape; but an abstract word like "justice" stays imageless and fades fast. The fix is to build the image yourself — a scale, a courtroom, the moment you return something that belongs to someone else. This one simple habit turns dry text into a living film inside your mind.

The simple rule: first review the same day, second review three days later, third review a week later. This cycle locks in the neural pathway without forcing you into exhausting repetition.
